TRAFÓ – House of Contemporary Arts


It is a fact with no need for further proof that contemporary art has distanced itself from the general public in the course of the 20th century and has become a private affair of the “initiated” few. However, this situation can still be changed. A good approach might be that of the brain trust of Trafó – House of Contemporary Arts who launched an “Initiatory Programme” five years ago. The initiative has been bringing contemporary art closer – in a physical as well as intellectual sense – to secondary school pupils. The conference to be held on the fifth anniversary of the launch of the project centres on the position of the various educational programmes and trainings connected to the creations of contemporary art in Hungary and abroad.
